Zero-click query tracker: an n8n flow for brand-new Search Console queries
A free n8n workflow that finds brand-new Search Console queries from the last week and splits them into zero-click and already-clicking, surfacing emerging keyword opportunities daily.
The Vault already carries picks for weekly Search Console movers and week-on-week winners and losers, both useful for tracking how existing rankings shift. This one does something different: it hunts for queries that are entirely new to your Search Console history, the ones nobody has claimed yet, and tells you whether they are already earning clicks or sitting at zero.
Why it made the cut
New-query discovery is a different job to trend-tracking, and it is easy to leave undone because it means manually comparing this week's query list against every week before it. This flow automates exactly that comparison and adds the one split that matters for prioritisation: a brand-new query already generating clicks is a live opportunity to double down on; a brand-new query at zero clicks with real impressions is a content or snippet gap worth investigating before a competitor claims it.
How to use it
- Import the workflow template into your n8n instance.
- Connect your Search Console credentials to the relevant nodes.
- Set the workflow to run on a schedule, daily or weekly depending on how fast you want to catch new queries.
- Read the output split, zero-click queries are your content gap list, already-clicking queries are your quick-win list to reinforce.
Worth knowing
This is a free n8n community template, and it needs nothing beyond a working Search Console connection to run. n8n itself is open source and self-hostable, or you can run it on n8n's free-tier cloud trial. The template page shows a last-updated date of roughly February 2026, so check for a newer version before importing.
